Meet the Owner

Trey Waters, Pharm.D., RPh, FAAFRM

Trey Waters knew from a young age that he wanted to become a pharmacist. After helping his grandfather understand his diabetes medications, he saw how confusing healthcare could be and made it his mission to make medicine easier to understand.

Born and raised in Bristol, Virginia, Trey began working as a pharmacy technician at 15 and earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at 23. Since then, he has owned and operated more than 20 independent pharmacies, with experience in both traditional dispensing and customized compounding.

Today, Trey leads Waters Wellness with a focus on personalized care, functional medicine, hormone health, and longevity. His philosophy is simple: one size does not fit all.

Whether helping a child who cannot swallow a pill, supporting someone through hormone changes, or explaining treatment options in plain language, Trey’s goal is always the same: simplify the complex, treat the whole person, and help people live better, longer.

Pam Brabson, CPhT

Pam has been a familiar face at Laurel Family Drug for 33 years, proudly serving as one of the pharmacy’s original employees.

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), she has spent more than three decades caring for patients, building lasting relationships, and becoming a trusted part of both the Laurel Family Drug team and the community.

Pam truly values the friendships she has made with patients and families throughout the years.

When she’s not at the pharmacy, her favorite role is being a grandmother and spending time with her grandkids.

Amanda Rouse, CPhT

Amanda brings 17+ years of pharmacy experience to the team, with a background spanning community pharmacy, pharmacy management, and patient care coordination. She is passionate about helping patients feel heard, supported, and confident in their healthcare.

With a strong belief in the value of personalized, hometown pharmacy care, Amanda enjoys building relationships with patients and finding ways to make their healthcare experience a little easier.

Outside of the pharmacy, she enjoys spending time with her family, trail running, and tapping into her creative side through painting and art.

Ashley DeBusk, Pharm.D., RPh

Ashley DeBusk, PharmD, has been serving the community as a pharmacist for over 17 years, bringing both deep clinical expertise and genuine warmth to every patient interaction.

A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, Ashley believes pharmacy is about more than filling prescriptions, it's about building relationships and treating every patient like family.

At Laurel Family Drug, she's dedicated to providing the kind of personal, attentive care that makes patients feel truly known and cared for.

Outside the pharmacy, Ashley loves traveling with her husband and their four kids, curling up with a good book, and enjoying a cup of cold brew.

Cadence Thompson, CPhT

Cadence has been working as a pharmacy technician for a little over 3 years and truly enjoys being able to help others through her work.

She is passionate about providing friendly, reliable service while making sure every patient receives the care and attention they deserve.

Over the years, she has gained valuable experience in pharmacy operations, prescription processing, and working closely with both patients and healthcare professionals.

She takes pride in being dependable, detail-oriented, and always willing to learn and grow in her career.
